My hook reveal map screen is white I bought a cmap for it and still is white any recommendations

Mine lasted less than one season before the screen went to crap. I didn't do anything to it. I installed LEDs above it but that might affect it when we are moving, not standing still. Today I raised the transducer, but again that should only affect it while moving. Very aggravating that in less than one season the screen went to crap. It reads temp and speed ok. Depth is hit and miss.

I have a cheap Lowrance with GPS cant remember which one but it costs less than $150. Last year it worked great until it didn't. I get water temp, speed, and depth (sometimes) but the screen went to crap. Last year it would show a stump and fish now it shows garbage. I just raised the transducer, that might help, but I'm going to try a hard reset. I don't use the gps anyway but I do like to see my images. Its not even a year old.

These units are unreliable, poorly designed, and not the least bit intuitive. The manuals cover a dozen models so half of it never applies. When Lowrance cannot design a transducer plug that siimply works causing tons of grief for users and calls to the manufacturer you know they don't care about design. My 30 year old suction cup battery operated fish finder is more reliable at finding depth and fish.

How accurate is the fish reveal feature? Basically is it gonna have me frustrated fishing for ghost fish that arnt actually there? My hook 2 4x "fish id" was always telling me i was pretty much surrounded by fish but whenever I tried jigging the depths it showed fish i never ever did get one and wouldnjust resort to bottom fishing for lingcod instead of attempting to jig for salmon .

It seems by default that my fishfinder starts up with the sonar deactivated, is there anyway to alter this or do I have to use your method everytime I turn it on?

As a newbie, this video is information overload. If you have used electronics before, this may be a great video. But, I don't need to know what everything on this unit does. Perhaps his other videos takes it in incremental steps. I'll look and see.

Fish ID button works fine on my Hook 2 4x .....You might have a defective unit.

It's probably the best video I've ever seen on how to work a fish finder. Most of the things you explained were things thatother videos skip and just assume you already know, which is never the case for me. So thank you. The only thing i still cant find a good video on is how to tell what you are seeing on the screen. And most importantly of all, where the stuff on the screen is in relation to your boat. For example, if I see fish on the screen... how would you know where to cast your line to cast to the fish you are seeing? Im not sure if anymone knows for sure? As i have never seen an explanation to this question yet.

What's all the clutter in the depth part of the side scan..how do you see fish with all that clutter

You forgot to show how to change the colorline, ping, and noise level.. which you just click enter from the main screen instead of enter and it brings you into them
